Everyone knows it’s good to drink fluids when you have a cold and this juice is my favorite. It contains the classic cold remedy ingredients citrus, ginger and honey but also carrots and fresh turmeric to add more nutrition.
You can either drink it hot to sooth an aching throat, or cold – perhaps as a healthy breakfast juice?
FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE & CARROT JUICE WITH GINGER & TURMERIC RECIPE
Yields 1 big glass or 2 smaller glasses of juice
Ingredients:
2 oranges
8 oz (230 g) carrot (about 4 small carrots)
1 tsp finely grated, fresh ginger
a pinch of finely grated, fresh turmeric (0,2 tsp)
1,5 tsp honey
Optional: a bit of squeezed lemon
How to:
- Peel carrots and juice them. Squeeze oranges.
- Finely grate grate ginger and turmeric.
- Mix carrot juice, orange juice, ginger, turmeric and honey.
- Taste the juice. For more sweetness add some more carrot and/or honey. For more freshness add more orange or lemon.
